E-MAIL FROM PENNSYLVANIA

Today at the 10.am Eucharist, after the Prayers for the People, I made a "formal" announcement of the work of St George's on the World Wide Web. I told the entire congregation about your parish and the relatedness I experience for St George's... and about St George's News etc.

I must say that everyone was most interested and insisted that I extend the warmest wishes from St Andrew's parish. Several of our congregation were born in England; and I would suspect that at least a good half of us have spent time in the UK. So at coffee hour, I hear a-new the story of everyone's favorite trip to England and when they stayed at the farm B&B when the pigs got out and what not. You may have noticed in the Prayers today, remembering the members of the worldwide Anglican Communion, we the Episcopal Church of the United States of America, were mentioned. Of course back in 1776... 1789, we Anglicans were hard pressed to use the name Anglican in the rebellious colonies... so we got stuck with The Episcopal Church.

In any case, best wishes to you all at St George's from us here in Lewisburg at St Andrew's Church.
