DERICK GASSER - OBITUARY

Derick came from Gosport and sang in the choir of Alverstoke Parish Church where he was also confirmed.

He was an engineer for most of his life and served in the Merchant Navy for his National Service for three years on tankers.

He worked for various firms and for over 20 years at Tambrands on the Waterlooville Industrial Estate.

He and his wife Pat have been married for 33 years and have lived for almost all their married life at their home in Hambledon road.

They have a son, John, and have all been regular worshippers at St George's taking a full part in parish life.

Derick was a man with a lovely disposition and an engaging smile. It was with great sadness that he died in his prime following a tumour on the brain which he bore with great patience having struggled hard to live a normal life with his family.

He died at the Rowan's Hospice having received the Holy Sacrament and Holy Anointing of the sick. We send our loving sympathy and prayers to Pat and John in their loss.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
