ST GEORGE'S JUNIOR YOUTH CLUB

A few details about the newest club to join the list of activities organised at St George's. In response to some of the younger members who cannot wait to join the Youth Club, a club meeting once a week has started to provide an interest for children aged seven to eleven. It is being held on Sunday afternoons from 5.30.pm to 6.30.pm in the Church Hall. All eligible children from St George's Sunday School are very welcome as well as children from friends and family. Whilst the club has a planned activity for each week it retains a Christian emphasis in regard to material used and a quiet time at the end of each session for prayers. It is also hoped that members will be able to join in with the Family Service each month and enjoy close links with the Sunday School and Youth Club. Activities currently scheduled include; a churchyard trail, planting bulbs for Christmass, a visit from a woodturner, music, games and preparation for Christmass. There is a small termly subscription of £2.00 to cover the purchase of incidental costs, for example, prizes for competitions, painting and colouring equipment and refreshments. The club will run every Sunday during normal school terms and a full list of dates and activities can be found at the back of the Church in the Sunday School corner and on the Youth Notice Board in the Church Hall. The leaders would like to take the opportunity of thanking members of the PCC for their endorsement of the club and for the donation received to help set it up. For further details please contact Bev or Felicity Best on Waterlooville 647956. We would be very pleased to hear from anyone who wants to join, or can offer help, or has a skill or activity they think the children would enjoy participating in.
