HOSPICE SPECIAL

It is that special time again when "Voices For Hospices" happens. Every three years all over Britain, and also abroad, people come together to sing in order to raise funds for their local hospice. The event is sponsored by BT and parts of some performances are broadcast live on the radio.

At 7.30.pm on Saturday 18th October batons will be raised exactly to the second worldwide - quite a thrilling experience.

Our local performance is to be held in St Wilfrid's Church, Cowplain when a selection from Handel's Messiah, which is the favoured work, will be enjoyed by both singers and listeners. If you wish to "come and sing" please contact Julia Brown on 01705 265652 for details, otherwise do "come and listen". Rosemary Field is to conduct the performance and David Wiseman will be the organist. The soloists are Kim Willcox and Mark Dancer. Both Rosemary and Mark are well known to us at St George's and some members of our choir are joining us for the event. So why not come along and give your support, not only to those taking part, but also to The Rowans in a retiring collection. As you may have read in the local press we hope to open three more beds in January - great news.
