PARISH NOTES

Sadly, the Sisters of the Poor Clare Community at Southampton have decided, because of shortage of sisters and health problems, to stop making the communion wafers from Easter. I am most grateful to Sister Mary Agnes in charge of the bakery department at the monastery and for the correspondence we have been having over several years. Please pray for more vocations to the religious communities.

Our Patronal Festival will be observed on Sunday 26th April and at the Sung Eucharist, Fr Graham Holcombe, Vicar of Pentyrch, Cardiff is coming to preach. This will be followed by the annual Parish Luncheon in the Hall.

Gift envelopes will be available during April for donations to our church and its ever increasing costs. Please be generous.

The Raffle tickets for the Summer Fête are already in circulation so please take some to sell.

After the terrific success of the Christmas raffle we have ordered another 1,000 tickets. Let's try to sell them all again. We need £100 to fund the first prize of a flight from Goodwood airstrip. This can either be in the form of a sightseeing trip or a lesson, whichever the winner prefers.

Any donations, however small, are welcome in order to make the sale of tickets profitable.

Many thanks.
