FINANCIAL UPDATE

Another month, another magazine and more pages completed in the Treasurer's cash book. Entries reveal the Jumble Sale on March 13th made a net profit of £157.14 for church funds, an excellent result. The Lent Lunch on March 20th realised a net profit of £88 plus a donation of £5 for Christian Aid. The retiring collection during March provided £98.30 for the Bishop‘s Lent Appeal plus envelope donations of £15. In accordance with your wishes £62 will go to the Mothers‘ Union Chicken Rearing Project in Northern Nigeria and the balance to the League of Friends for Oaklands who offer support to people with mental health problems living in Gosport and Fareham. Any of the charity boxes for USPG, CMS, Society of the Holy Cross, Leprosy Mission etc will always find their way to the appropriate cause if left with the collection plate. Interest and dividends from our investments provided an income of £863.34 for the first quarter of 1999, and continuing sales of car stickers, bulbs, poem books and notelets added another £43 to funds.

Our annual subscription for the Link Magazine cost £96 and renewal of our PPL (Phonographic Performance Ltd) licence, covering copyright owned by producers of sound recordings, £47. The fee for a comprehensive Building Survey Report of our church hall amounted to £587.50.
