BOOK CORNER

As a change, for this edition here are a selection of suggestions for your summer reading: -

'The Proud Tree' by Luane Roche. £8.95

The story of the crucifixion is told through the eyes of Rex, the tree that became the cross on which Jesus was crucified. Rex is proud and ungrateful at first but he learns a lesson in humility from the humble and gentle Jesus. This lesson reveals the importance of sacrifice and the power of love.

'Transforming your Life through the Eucharist' by John A Kane. £9.95

It is all too easy to let 'familiarity breed contempt' and the transforming power of this sacrament can be overshadowed by routine. These pages will help to stir the embers of love for the Eucharist into a bright glowing fire.

'The Christ-Centred Heart'. Peaceful Living in Difficult Times by Rich Mathis. PHD. £9.95

This book begins and ends with the belief that centring our lives on Christ enhances our ability to love. A Christ-centred life changes our perspective, turning us as much as possible from a life built around our own needs to one built around the love of God and the love of others.

'The Apocalypse and the Third Millennium'. Today's Guide to the Book of Revelation by George T Montague. SM. £8.95

This edition of the book, originally entitled 'The Apocalypse', contains new material that relates the book of Revelation (also known as the Apocalypse) to the third millennium. This is a practical guide which will give a better understanding of what the Bible teaches about the end of the world.

Happy summer reading everyone.
