ST GEORGE'S YOUTH CLUB

St George's Youth Club had a summer term full of activity, most of it physical! We went to the Spectrum in Guildford where some members skated and the rest swam in the many available pools. We played skittles in the Hall. There was a travelling supper on bikes and a watersports day with the Christian Youth Enterprise group at Chidham. This was great fun and those who went had to sail, paddle a canoe and undertake an assault course. There was a walking treasure hunt and a beach party on Hayling. For the first time in living memory it was warm and despite the squeals the water was very pleasant too. On our last meeting of term we went to the new Star Wars film.

The club also joined in some church activities, the Fête, the sponsored walk, barbecue and evensong, the knockout fundraiser and the coach trip to Cardiff. They also held a fundraising day with car washing and jumble sale where the proceeds were shared with the church. The club continue their support of the Naomi House Hospice for Children.

The Youth Club join in the family services once a month. It is good to see the young in church and how the three groups, Link Group, Youth Club and Sunday School prepare and share their worship in such a varied way.

Youth Club reforms with a games meeting in the hall on Friday 10th September.
