DECEMBER RAMBLE

December's ramble was arranged at short notice and followed the South Downs Way from Harting to Hooksway, and back via Telegraph House. With the sun shining, the 6 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs set off, heading towards Beacon Hill. Only Christine decided to go round the Beacon, the rest of us trudging up the hill at varying speeds. We all met up again just beyond Buriton Farm, and headed off towards The Royal Oak at Hooksway, where we had our lunch.

Heading up the track towards Telegraph House, leaves under foot, we met up with the South Downs Way, and headed back towards Harting. By now, Amy was feeling a little weary, and welcomed Rachel and I taking a short cut back to Harting, where we managed to stay ahead of the rest of the party. Tony and Kaylie decided to have their own private race, however were unable to catch the leading group. The rest of the group made their way back to Harting having thoroughly enjoyed the impromptu ramble.
