FINANCIAL UPDATE

The formal and detailed accounts for 1999 have been prepared and await examination (audit) as I write this article. The P.C.C. meet to approve the figures on 2nd March as well as agreeing a proposed budget for 2000.

You will recall the accounts for 1999 are then presented for discussion only at the A.P.C.M. scheduled for Sunday 9th April.

To cut down costs fewer copies of the full budget will be printed this year. Every member of the P.C.C. will of course receive one and a copy will remain for inspection on the church noticeboard. It is intended to produce a summary, derived from the full accounts, in addition to help parishioners understand the finances in a more user friendly way. Full annual accounts will be available to anyone who would like a copy - requests to me please.

I am grateful for the financial information supplied by all the various groups within the church and please remember if you need any help do not hesitate to contact me however trivial it may seem. It is much easier to resolve queries early on in the year.

Looking at my new cashbook, sales of John Symonds book have risen to £769, the Webb Ivory net profit figure for 1999 was £260 and the retiring collection for St Luke's Hospital for the Clergy during January was £118.94.

Resources already used in 2000 include annual Church insurance £1081.42, annual subscriptions for the Link Magazine £96, Royal School of Church Music annual membership £54, Lottery licence for grand draws at the Fête and Bazaar £17.50, piano tune £38 and servicing of church boiler and heaters £140. Finally our quota for 2000 is £36,657, a 3.87% increase over 1999 meaning for the first time our monthly payments exceed £3000.
