OBITUARY

Harry Caldwell Casson, 1926-2000

Harry Casson came from Wargrave, Newton-Le-Willows in Lancashire. He had high hopes of a military career and joined the army at the age of 15½ and went to the Army Apprentices School. He eventually joined the Royal Corp of Signals in 1943 and qualified as an operator of wireless and telephone line equipment. However he became ill and unfit for further military service and was given a medical discharge.

He returned to Wargrave and worked in the motor trade, becoming an expert in vehicle painting and spraying.

He married his first wife Muriel in 1949 and they had two daughters. He then began work as a Departmental Manager for a large motor accessory firm in Manchester and in 1979 he opened his own business in Warrington and Chester.

His first wife died in 1984 and Harry suffered a stroke in 1989. He married Janet his second wife in 1990. He and Janet have been regular worshippers and communicants at St George's.

We offer Janet our sympathy and prayers in her loss and to her extended family. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Fr Malcolm Ferrier
