FINANCIAL UPDATE

A short resumé from me this month as I have only just returned from a wonderful trip to Oberammergau to see the Passion Play (more of that in a future issue).

The final net profit figure for the Fete rose to £1434.67 thanks to some additional donations. The final figure for the St George's Day Gift Aid envelopes was 51 envelopes returned containing £467.60. Of this £367 was donated under the Gift Aid scheme raising an additional sum of £102.76 tax to be reclaimed giving a grand total of £570.36 for general church funds. The envelopes and retiring collection during May for Christian Aid raised £333.75 plus £45.61 for the hunger lunch on May 17th. Remember to keep your own record of gift aid donations given to any charity including St George's for 'inclusion' on your tax return.

A bequest of £500 has also been received from the estate of the late Mr T Baines.

I have recently written the following cheques: Stewardship envelopes £114.76, Capitation fee for past year £36, Society of the Holy Cross Mission Direct £21.33, USPG £18.60, and Leprosy Mission £29.10, the last three being receipts from collection boxes over a period of several months.
