Welcome to the November 2000 On-Line Edition of

St George's News

Waterlooville's Parish Magazine

FINANCIAL UPDATE

Not a great deal to report for this edition of the magazine. Income during the past few weeks has mainly come from regular planned giving, interest on investments of £700 and Eucharistic Gift donations. As mentioned in recent bulletins the Eucharistic Gifts Fund is to be extended to include additional items relating directly to service expenses such as charcoal, posters, choir pay etc. At present only the cost of bread, wine and candles is met from this restricted fund. The PCC have agreed the Finance sub-committee's recommendations to make the alterations and the fund will now be known as the "Eucharistic Gifts and Other Service Expenses Fund" effective from the beginning of October.

The retiring collection for the Portsmouth Samaritans during September amounted to £97.71 and £102.08 was collected at the Battle of Britain service on September 17th for general church funds. Pre-printed gift aid envelopes cost £30.39 and a repair to the Ciborium cost £36.

The new photocopier is now installed and cost £2751.54. Do think about using it for your own personal photocopying needs. At 4p per copy the cost is very competitive compared to High Street retailers and the income comes to the church to offset our costs. Bill Hutchings is the person to contact. A refund of £60 on our previous photocopier contract is awaited.

Linda Wainwright, Hon. Treasurer to the PCC
