ST GEORGE'S LADIES GROUP

The Portsmouth Players came to entertain us and what a feast of music it proved to be. The evening started with songs from My Fair Lady and we were treated to solos and duets from Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, Phantom of the Opera and Me and My Girl. The singers had the audience joining in with them with the Lambeth Walk and Me and My Girl.

They are putting on 42nd Street and we saw some splendid tap dancing from some of the girls who, being true troupers, carried on without music when they had problems with the music tape.

One of the gentlemen, who has now turned professional, delighted us with his lively performance of Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat. The evening ended with the lovely ballad from Carousel, You'll Never Walk Alone. This was a superb evening of entertainment and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
