ST GEORGE'S LADIES GROUP

The Ladies Group raised £500 for FORT, their Charity for the year, and a cheque was presented to their charity Fundraiser at an American supper.

The Ladies Group went on an evening visit to the house of Gilbert White, the naturalist, in Selborne. We toured the rooms of this beautiful 18th century house where he wrote the Natural History of Selborne. There are also rooms dedicated to Titus Oakes, who died on Scotts ill-fated Antarctic Expedition, and Frank Oates, the Victorian explorer. It was a beautiful evening and we enjoyed wandering around the large garden with its lovely array of hollyhocks and also the herb garden. We finished a most enjoyable evening with an excellent meal at a nearby hostelry.
