OBITUARY

Lilian Roberts

Lilian was born in Portsmouth to Francis and Albert Jordan. Her father was a seaman who died while she was still a child. She met her husband Robbie Roberts when she was nineteen and they were married in 1931 and had three daughters Rita, Irene and June.

They moved to Waterlooville in 1939 when Robbie went into the army during World War II. He went overseas with the army and was a prisoner of war in Japan, so it was a difficult time for Lilian with her small children. On his release and return home they moved to Portsmouth where their son David was born.

They were a devoted couple and both she and Robbie were active members of the Church at St Cuthbert's Copnor, then at St George's and were regular worshippers and communicants. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary before Robbie died in 1997.

May they rest in peace and rise in glory. We send June Diaper and her family our sympathy and prayers in their loss.
