Welcome to the April (Easter) 2003 On-Line Edition of

FINANCIAL UPDATE

The tax rebate due for the last quarter of 2002 just received came to £1,882.47 proving how the additional 28p for every £1 given to St George's under the Gift Aid Scheme mounts up. I make no apologies for repeating that if you are a tax payer the church can reclaim the rebate whether you contribute to the planned giving scheme by weekly green envelope or by bankers standing order provided we have the necessary declaration from you. (John Millard has the relevant forms).

One off, additional or specific gift aid contributions should be given by completing the details on the front of the pink envelopes. Winifred Mancz has supplies of the green planned giving envelopes for anyone wishing to join the scheme and I hold copies of the bankers standing order forms.

The cost of Palm Crosses £20 and the Easter Candle (£15) have been met by donation. Advance magazine sales for 2003 are well in excess of £235, votive candle sales realised £90 and the continuing sale of bulbs has raised a further £150. Retiring collections were £115.88 for St Luke's Hospital for the Clergy during January and £138.33 for our link parish of St Mary Axim Ghana during February.

The recent fault with the organ cost £58.75 to rectify and the church boiler repair £73.44. Annual capitation fees due to Havant Deanery remain at £60, Child Awareness Training fees due to the Diocese cost £28 for seven people and Revd Ron Gwyther's fees on 9th February were £46.80. A further supply of wine cost £151.66 and wafers £17.60. The Church and Hall Performing Rights Society Licence cost £82.25 and monthly quota payments are now £3,650.
