BOOK CORNER

Books are very acceptable and lasting gifts both to give and receive. Here are a few suggestions for Christmas: -

E-Mail: Jesus@Anytime by Hilary Robinson and Anthony Lewis. An informative and entertaining look at the way the news of Jesus' life would have spread via modern communications today, and how public opinion can be manipulated and influence the rise and fall of a celebrity. £4.99

The Greatest Gift of All by Kimberly Rainhart and Georgia Terrmer. A story about the animals and characters of Christmas who each had something to offer to the newborn baby. Sensitive, colourful illustrations bring the simple message of this story to life. £4.99

The Christmas Story by Tracy Harrast. This interactive Bible storybook is especially created for young, curious minds. With playful art and flaps to lift, children will love discovering what happens next. £2.99

The Secret Diary of St Gargoyle's (Aged 847) by Ron Wood. Ron is in real life a parish priest in rural Wiltshire and is well known as the cartoonist in the Church Times - follow the familiar eccentric cartoon characters, the oddities of parish life in this book, which takes the form of the vicar's diary. £6.99

Songs of Praise, A Christmas Companion by Andrew Barr. A beautiful, reflective companion for the Christmas season - BBC tie-in to this much loved television programme. £9.99

Joy to the World by Joyce Huggett. A rich Christmas spiritual feast of Bible passages, prayers, pictures and reflections for those who can snatch a few minutes a day in the frenzied run up to December the 25th. £7.99.

Happy Christmas reading everyone!
