Healthy Living

Claire Hicks came to talk about healthy living. She had intended to become a dancer, but when ankle problems prohibited her from following her chosen career, she became interested in herbal remedies. After some research into herbal healing she managed to alleviate her pain by eliminating some food that upset her and using alternative medicine. She became so interested in the subject she decided to pursue this as a career and has been doing this for eight years and has eighteen clinics along the south coast.

She asked if anyone in the audience had rheumatoid arthritis or osteo arthritis and many people appeared to have these problems. She explained how by eating certain foods and avoiding others known to aggravate the condition anyone can help themselves to a better quality of life. She had brought with her a large range of herbal remedies and spoke at length how these and diet could help anyone with such things as heartburn, tummy upsets and eczema. She stressed that anyone on medication should always check with their doctor before using these medicines.

It was a most informative evening and many ladies went up to see her after the meeting to get advice.
