Summer Fete

19th June 2004

We are sorry to be always asking for your money but, as you will have seen from the Parish accounts, it is always high on the priority list. However, for once you can help without having to put your hands further into your pockets for more cash than you might normally do for the Summer Fête. As always we would like you to take raffle tickets to sell, perhaps make a cake, find a raffle or tombola prize or turn out some Bric a Brac or old toys and games. We would also be grateful for a bottle or two for the bottle stall. Every £1 ticket will get a prize, be it shampoo or champagne. So you will be able to work out that the more bottles we get the more money we will make. The bin is at the back of church for your contributions - bring along one a week or two and it will be easy! Who can come up with the most unusual bottle?

The biggest request we have to make this year is for some of your time. There are lots of possible stalls and activities and, on a good day, there are lots of potential customers passing the Church who can be tempted in. Our biggest problem is manpower. At present a few brave souls do everything, from setting up to packing away. If we could have more people, even for an hour or two it would be really helpful. Are you available for a shift? We need people to help set up tables and stalls, people to help run them during the day and people to help pack up at the end. So if you can come along at any time between 9.am and 3.pm on the day you will be welcomed with open arms. Please let Jane, Tony (023 9226 3576) or Rosemary (023 9225 8938) know. Don't forget to tell your friends and neighbours. There will be flowers and music in the Church, Bar B Que lunch, various entertainments and the usual stalls. Thank you.
