Welcome to the June & July (Summer) 2004 On-Line Edition of

St George's News

Waterlooville's Parish Magazine

Financial Update

As the deadline for the magazine approaches the amount collected for the St George's Day Gift Day so far is £626 and with the tax recoverable under the Gift Aid Scheme this will rise to £785. Our magazine advertisers have contributed a further £201 to church funds and David Palmer's plant and bulb sales another £176.

The retiring collection for the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (USPG) during April including Lent boxes was £89.81. Looking at the church cheque book, printing of raffle tickets for the Summer Fête cost £44, a regular organ tune £106.34, copier paper £136.98 and the quarterly charge for the photocopier £103.75. A further year's supply of the green weekly planned giving envelopes cost £114.82 and the original BT Vicarage telephone number has been transferred to the new vicarage at a cost of £28.34.

I have agreed to take on the role of Parish Legacy Contact Person having attended a seminar on the subject run by the Diocese some months ago. An article about this will appear in a future edition of the magazine and informative leaflets will also be issued. If anyone needs information in the meantime please ask me.
