Holidays 2006

Now that we are all beginning to plan next year's holidays we would like to share a fund raising idea with you. We were talking to an acquaintance on the camp site in France and exchanging ideas about Parish fundraising. Our Parish Share is much scarier than theirs it seems! However, there were lots of suggestions, and we hope you might join in this one.

When you next go away please think of St. George's. If everyone brings back a souvenir of the country or area they have visited we can put them all together as a stall, raffle or tombola at the next Christmas Bazaar. It is a novel idea and creates much interest. Obviously food items need to have a long sell by date, but tins and bottles are usually a safe bet and there are all sorts of soaps, pottery and novelties that will be of use. The collection is already underway with items from Provence. We hope more of you will join in the fun and fill the stall. There could even be a prize for the most exotic or unusual.
