St George's Ladies Group

Our July meetings were both social occasions, the first being a presentation evening when a cheque for £510 was graciously accepted by Tricia Aspey on behalf of Naomi House Childrens Hospice which was our charity of the year. Tricia highlighted many of the aspects of life at the hospice, and the generous help they receive from the many volunteers who work so hard to keep everything running smoothly day to day.

On 23rd September the Hospice holds an open day. This is your chance to go and see for yourself the loving care and understanding shown to both the terminally sick children and their parents, and making their time at Naomi House as happy as is possible.

Regretfully the Hospice cannot take any more milk tops as health and safety rules decree that storage of them constitutes a fire hazard.

Our last evening was spent at The Red Lion at Horndean for our end of year meal. Most of us were able to attend and enjoy a very relaxed evening with excellent food and good companionship. A fitting end to the year.

Our next meeting will be September 14th and our Charity of the Year will be The Rocky Appeal. New members are always welcome.
