Waterlooville Music Festival 2007

The Waterlooville Music Festival is marching ever closer. There is a wonderful line up of vastly differing music. The week kicks off with a scratch performance of Faure’s Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine accompanied by Dr Elizabeth Le Grove and conducted by Richard Barnes. There will be forms available for singers nearer the event. We have lunchtime concerts by Sue Palmer, Waite End Primary School, Andrew Evans and Marcus Wibberley. There will be children’s workshops on the organ and arranging flowers. In the evenings we have the Wyndcliffe Voices, Purbrook Harmony, Portsmouth Chorus, Highbury Area Band, Manti Rock Band and Vasoline. The week ends with the Summer Fete on the Saturday, which will have Sounds of Steel and a Last Night of the Proms style evening with all the old favourites to sing along to.

Last year the standard of performers was so good that we had an avalanche of people contacting us asking to be included this year. Thus we have an entirely new programme. This was not without its heartache as we all wanted last year’s performers to come again but it was decided that two weeks might be too long to sustain interest from our loyal audiences!

Lunchtime concerts will be free and the evening concerts will be £5. There will be a passport ticket for all the concerts at a discounted price.

There will be refreshments in church, teas and coffees and lunches and a super raffle prize at each evening concert. At the Saturday evening Prom concert you will be encouraged to bring your picnic to have on the lawns….we will put in a prayer for good weather!

All you need to know about the 2007 Music Festival, with the latest programme details is available on our website. You will also find a selection of photographs taken at last year’s Festival.
