PCC Matters

The APCM took place on Sunday 29th April 2007 in the Church commencing at 11.15 am.  There were 58 persons present at the meeting.  The audited accounts were presented and the Treasurer gave her report.  There were vacancies for 5 PCC members this year, the normal 3 plus 2 resignations and Dick Handy, David Palmer, Mabel Maginn, Julia Spurgeon and Abi Morgan were duly elected. Individual reports from all the Church groups were also presented.

The first meeting of the PCC took place on Wednesday 9th May at the Vicarage. Fr Mike welcomed the new members. Abi Morgan volunteered to serve for one year before she goes to University, Mabel Maginn volunteered to serve for the two years and Julia Spurgeon, David Palmer and Dick Handy will serve for 3 years. Elections took place for the various posts and a full list of PCC members is on display at the back of the Church. The Fabric and Finance Committee, Pastoral Committee and Hall Committee were then formed and people nominated to serve on them and Richard Spurgeon was again co-opted as Chairman of the Hall Committee.

Carol McKells went through the Treasurer’s report in detail particularly for the benefit of the new members. After discussion it was agreed to lease a new photocopier from Healeys as the present one is nearing the end of its life. It was also agreed, following a request from St Mary Axim, to send them 50 Ancient and Modern Hymn Books from the back of Church which are not used very often.
