Editor's Notes

We have received the following email from an “On-Line” reader:

How very  forward thinking to put your parish news on line! I am trying to find out about the 2nd East Yorks who were stationed close to Waterlooville before D-Day. The local WI made them a flag to take with them - do any parishioners remember this? Or know of the exact location?

Anyone know anything about this? Please contact us if you can help - 023 9226 5634 or feedback@stgeorgesnews.org

Rosemary Goulding has written to say:

My grandson Steven who is just 19 years old has been granted his train drivers license and now drives trains from London Paddington to the South Coast, through that lovely scenery. He says I can go free if I like, he will get me a ticket!

We hope Rosemary manages to make it for her free train ride! Not sure if she gets to ride in the driver’s cab!
