Waterlooville
Lions Club
FOUNDED 1965 - OVER 43 YEARS OF SERVICE
TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Waterlooville Lions are members of Lions Clubs International, a community service organisation dedicated to the idea that the men and women who live in a community are in the best position to know who needs help and why. We are part of the world's largest such organization, with 1.4 million members serving in more than 180 countries and areas. The association is both non-political and non-sectarian.

Some of our recent activities include:

  • Pantomime trip for children from less fortunate families
  • Collecting unwanted spectacles, which are refurbished and then distributed in Africa and elsewhere to restore the sight of people in third world countries
  • Knitting clothes for children from less fortunate families
  • Helping in the community in a wide variety of ways
  • Raising money by Tombola events at local shows and supermarkets
  • Distributing "Message in a Bottle"* containers locally
  • Marshalling at the Lions Hayling Island Walk
  • Running a Charity Shop for a week to raise funds

We are keen to expand our membership, and we plan a membership drive during 2008. If you are looking to expand your social life in a worthwhile way which helps and supports the local community, please contact us to find out more about all that Waterlooville Lions Club can offer.
