The Waterlooville Music Festival 2008 is now over, and has been a phenomenal success with over 3,000 visitors to the festival across the week, and many concerts packed to the seams. Thank you to everyone for your support in our mission to bring quality music to the community of Waterlooville.
The Waterlooville Music Festival 2009 takes place from Saturday 13th to Sunday 21st June 2009.
Next year will be the fourth season of the Waterlooville Music Festival hosted by St George's Church. Both the opening and closing Saturdays have an exciting all-day line up of major events; on Saturday 13th, there will be literally hundreds of musicians performing throughout the town centre taking part in Market Place Music (organised by the Waterlooville Business Association), whilst at the same time St George's Church will be holding its Summer Fete and hosting performances by Blendworth Brass, followed by Bands on the Lawn providing a showplace for the best of local talent. The day culminates with a fantastic Folk and Ale Festival evening with one of the South West's most accomplished folk groups - Issy & David Emeney and Kate Riaz and their brilliant dance band Rapscallion.
Then throughout the festival week there are numerous events, morning, lunchtime, afternoon and evening, including a scratch Famous Opera Choruses directed by Portsmouth Chorus musical director Roderick Starr; the Hampshire Police Band, Havant Light Opera, Africapella any many more. The week comes to its conclusion on Saturday 20th with an all-day Jazz Festival and in the evening the now traditional grand finalé of Last Night of the Proms - all the atmosphere of the real thing - featuring Conductor Don Lloyd and the vast array of the Highbury Area Band. The final Saturday evening also offers a licensed bar serving real ale.
Evening concerts are great value at just £5, all daytime concerts are free. There will be a special offer discount of 10% for early advance bookings.
