SOUTH EAST HANTS JAZZ PROJECT
The South East Hants Jazz Project was set up by Hampshire Music Service to cater for the many talented jazz players in the area with the specific aim of performing at the Regional Music For Youth Festival in 2008. From this, the band was delighted to be one of only five groups invited to perform at the National Jazz Festival held in Birmingham were it gave an impressive and stylish performance.  The Band was also very pleased to be the runners up in the Guide Awards for best classical/jazz  group in Portsmouth. The musicians are hoping to repeat their success of last year and return to the National Jazz Festival in July this year.

SOUTH DOWNS COLLEGE JAZZ QUARTET
The South Downs College Jazz Quartet was formed by ex-members of the College in September last year. Between them, members of the quartet have worked with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and Southampton Youth Jazz Orchestra, alongside artists such as Paul Eshelby and Julian Joseph. The Quartet specialise in repertoire from the Great American Songbook and modern music. Their influences include Oscar Peterson and Lee Morgan as well as Jamie Cullum and Norah Jones.
