The Parish Church of St George the Martyr, Waterlooville

St George’s Players are performing a pantomime especially written for St George’s called Alice in Pantoland. It was first performed about  25 years ago and has been up-dated a little, though not as much had to be changed as you might think! Some of the players who performed all that time ago are doing so again and there are a load of new faces in it too from the vast talent available at our church.

I feel that afterwards we should have a copy of the old performance on sale along with the new. We could spot the changes in the actors…..and the scenery, some of which is being used again having been dug up from under the stage!

The panto has Alice chasing the White Rabbit through a series of different pantomimes which gives the players plenty of scope for fun and frolics….though no slapstick as the director isn’t fond of it!!

The performances are on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th February at a cost of £3 for the Friday and £4 for the Saturday…. children £1 for both. You are welcome to stay to the cast party after the performance on the Saturday but owing to new licensing laws you are asked to bring a bottle (perhaps I bottle between 2 people might be more realistic?) Tickets are on sale from Jane Rice-Oxley.
