This Mothering Sunday help change a life.

How it works

By giving a Make a Mother’s Day ethical gift this Mothering Sunday you will be supporting the work of Mothers’ Union around the world. Every gift has been carefully selected with our goal of long-term sustainability in mind. Your gift, no matter how small, will play a vital role in helping us achieve this goal.

We don’t simply give out handouts.

Mothers’ Union’s 4 million members around the world give of their time to support their families and communities. We empower people by enabling them to develop the skills they need to create a better life for themselves and their families.

We aim to inspire our beneficiaries: teaching them to read and write; to grow fruit and vegetables and work within their families and communities to support each other and build a better life for generations to come.  To achieve long-term sustainability we bring communities together, helping them identify their specific needs. We train nominated people in these communities as facilitators, equipping them to pass on vital skills to others in a way that ensures lasting solutions for that community.

We campaign for a better life for people who don’t have a voice and give relief to communities that find themselves in serious need due to natural disaster and war.

With your help we hope to raise over £170,000 in 2014 for vital projects in the UK and around the world.

Four Easy Steps To Make A Mother’s Day

Step 1 Go to www.makeamothersday.org and choose a gift. You can choose more than one gift and buy the same gift more than once. You can be assured that each gift represents the amazing work that Mothers’ Union is doing with families throughout the world.

Step 2

You can then see the gifts you have added to your Shopping Basket on the ‘View Basket’ page. If you are happy with your gift selection then you can proceed to the Checkout page where you can enter your details into the order form. Please remember to tick the Gift Aid box if you are a UK tax payer. This will mean that your gift will be worth 25% more at no extra cost to you (see the Gift Aid section below). After you have completed your order form you will then be taken to a secure page where you can enter your credit/debit card details to pay for your gifts and complete your order.

Step 3 We will then send you a Mothering Sunday card. (unless you request ‘no card’).

Step 4  You give the card to your mother. Alternatively you can give a gift in memory of your mother, as a tribute to a life-time of caring. If you would like your mother’s name to be placed in our Remembrance book which will be kept at the Mary Sumner House Chapel please add her name when prompted. Alternatively we can send the card directly to you.

You will be sent a confirmation email which will include a link to your downloadable card. This can be printed and folded and once you complete your personal message it can be given to your mother.

Remember Mothering Sunday is on Sunday 30th March so please get your orders in by Wednesday 19th March so we can send you the card in time.  Too late?  We now have downloadable cards available on our website.

You can also order by post as well as online at www.makeamothersday.org or by phone + 44 (0)20 7222 5533
