Emsworth Garden Party

Our members were invited to a Garden Party on 18th June by the ladies of Emsworth branch. This was held in Margaret Cormick’s beautiful and very peaceful garden. There were stalls for Mothers’ Union merchandise, bring and buy, and a raffle. A lovely tea, including strawberries and cream was laid out in the conservatory.

We were made very welcome and spent a very pleasant afternoon there.

Catherington Centenary Service

On 14th July we were invited by Catherington and Clanfield branch, to their Centenary Service held at All Saints Church Catherington.

The Rev. Canon Dr Gill Hill led the service and the preacher was the Ven. Dr Trevor Reader.

The service was followed by tea in the church hall.

St George’s Tea Party

We held our own Tea Party in St George’s Church Hall on Thursday 16th July. With guests from other Mothers’ Union branches and churches about 30 of us enjoyed games, a quiz, readings and a raffle before tucking into a spread of savouries, sandwiches and cakes, with tea and coffee. £180 was raised (including donations) and the majority of this will be sent to the Mothers’ Union World Wide Fund.
