The Parish Church of St George the Martyr, Waterlooville

Lent is that period of time leading up to Holy Week and Easter. Traditionally it’s a time when people think about their faith by studying the Word of God or by examining their commitment to God’s Church. This “thinking” can lead to many questions and so this year at St. George’s Church, you’re invited to put these questions to the clergy. On most Sunday and Wednesday mornings in Lent, and on some Sunday evenings, Fr. Mike and Fr. Ray will respond to your questions. If you include your name with the question, they will let you know when you can hear the answer but please note that it may not be possible to answer every question. You can post your question into the special box on the book table in Church.

Available now from the back of Church is a complete list of all the services taking place at St. George’s Church throughout Lent, Holy Week and Easter. New for this year is a service on Holy Saturday evening called THE EMPTY TOMB. This will include readings, music and hymns telling the story of Christ’s death and leading to his resurrection symbolised by the lighting of the New Fire of Easter. The service will end with a celebratory supper, so tickets will be needed.
