Sunday School and Crèche

Sunday School continues to host a small regular group of children, not all are able to attend each week but all are welcome whenever they can come. Good News! The crèche is expanding! Towards the end of last year, we were delighted to welcome baby Polly, sister to Heidi. Already, Polly seems to protest if she can hear the other children and is not where they are.  Welcome Polly!  Also just recently, we have been joined by baby Lydia, sister to Eleanor.  Welcome Lydia!

We continue to mark the important festivals in the Church year, eg. The Epiphany and Candlemass and the children enjoyed suitable activities for these occasions.

Other activities included learning about the call of the first disciples and the children made ‘prayer fish’ in which they wrote the name of a friend or relative whom they wished to know Jesus.  The fish were then lifted high and let go and that name was thought about whilst it twirled to the floor. Archdeacon Jenny seemed to like this idea and encouraged the wider Church Family to join in!

The children also learnt about the first miracle in Cana, turning water into wine and the Transfiguration. They also made a ‘Praise God For Creation’ plaque using a paper plate to marvel at God’s wonderful world.

We are now busy working towards Mothering Sunday and Easter.
